White Student Tears Down Black Student Black Lives Matter Mural

 

Apex, NC -- A video of an Apex student tearing down a Black Lives Matter mural at his high school is going viral on Twitter and now that student has been suspended.

The mural was torn down by 16-year-old Mason Stewart.

Keep in mind: 

This is the same student who brought an All Lives Matter poster and “don’t tread on me” flag to their school walkout. He then went on to tell ABC11 on Thursday that he found the mural "offensive" and "inappropriate." The 16-year-old student was later on suspended. 

Other students who spoke to ABC11 on Thursday said they are outraged.

"I find it incredibly disrespectful to the lives that died because they're all innocent and he's trying to say it's freedom of speech, but you're tearing down someone else's freedom of speech basically," said Chavis Coachman.

The principal did post a message on Apex High School's website, saying that defacing school property for any reason is not tolerated.

Stewart was suspended for a post on Instagram about the incident that was deemed racially insensitive.

I bet his White Supremacist parents and Conservatives are so proud of him and calling him a hero. This is very sad and disgusting, and I am so glad he was suspended despite the news article not saying how many days. I also find it ironic that he had an "All lives Matter" poster during the school walk out and didn't care how others felt. I hope the student who created this mural gets another chance to make an even better one.
