Auburn police in Washington said they received a 911 call from a woman at about 3:38 a.m. on Saturday to report that she was sexually assaulted by Nelly (real name Cornell Iral Haynes Jr.). He was arrested early Saturday morning after the woman said he raped her on his tour bus in a town outside of Seattle. Nelly was taken into custody at 4:37 a.m. and booked at the Score jail
facility in Des Moines, Washington. He was released at 8:02 a.m, according to an article on Yahoo.
In a statement to ET on
Saturday, Nelly's lawyer, Scott Rosenblum, said that the allegations
which led to Nelly's arrest are "completely fabricated" and that he was
"confident once this scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated,
there will be no charges." ET confirms that Nelly will not perform as scheduled in Ridgefield, Washington, with Florida Georgia Line on Saturday night.
Nelly went on his Instagram page to clear his name and apologize to his loved ones and to thank his fans for their unwavering support.
This is a very common and sad situation among the rich and the famous. I have no choice but to wait until all of the facts and evidence come out to give my complete final thought on this situation. I do not believe these accusations, but I am curious to know what do you think? I'll be sure to update this page as more come out so stay tuned and subscribe.
