Was Kenneka Jenkins Murdered?

BACKGROUND 

Kenneka Jenkins was a 19-year-old woman born in Illinois who was found dead in a walk-in freezer on September 10, 2017  at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Rosemont, Illinois.  Kenneka was attending a party at the hotel on September 8, 2017 and was found hours later after her mother Tereasa Martin arrived at the hotel at around 5:00 a.m. and had to beg police for hours to watch the surveillance video after hotel staff would not view the surveillance footage until after a missing persons report was filed, according to several sources. 

In the end after reviewing the surveillance video Kenneka Jenkins was located on video at 10:00 p.m. when they saw Kenneka reportedly “staggering drunk” by the front desk hours earlier. Her body was found at 1:00 a.m. in the hotel walk-in freezer. 

The Cook County medical examiners say Kenneka Jenkins death was an accident and that intoxication from alcohol and medications were contributing factors to her death, CBS Chicago reported. 

Jenkins died from hypothermia after being exposed to conditions of the walk-in freezer, the Medical Examiner's Office said in a news release issued Friday. Toxicology tests detected alcohol and topiramate, an epilepsy/migraine medication, in the woman's system. Her blood-alcohol concentration (BAC) was 0.112, which is higher than the 0.08 BAC level that is considered as legally drunk for motorists in Illinois, the coroner's office said.

FINAL THOUGHT

The death of Kenneka Jenkins was indeed very tragic and also very preventable. While others feel the whole thing was a conspiracy and that her friends, hotel staff, and police were in on it, now is the time to just stop and let this woman family heal and let Kenneka rest in peace. It was clearly an accident and there are several videos showing her completely alone and also completely wasted.

Now I can see if there was no video of the kitchen at all, but there's video of her in the actual kitchen itself once again alone. I see no shadow people as some people claim they have saw in other videos on YouTube, and most importantly Kenneka Jenkins doesn't look battered or bruised and her clothes doesn't look messed up from any type of struggle. The autopsy found no evidence of an altercation with someone else before her death and no evidence of trauma due to abuse.

So keep in mind when you watch videos of people debunking the actual video showing her staggering that this file have been downloaded thousands of times which will distort the file and things will look blurry and you may think you see something when it's just really effects of the video being distorted from its original format. So was she murdered in my personal opinion? No. This was an accident and unfortunately this could have been prevented if underage drinking wasn't involved. 

However I do feel once the mother went to the hotel and asked them to look at the video that they should have looked. Would it have saved Kenneka Jenkins? No, since when she was found she have already been deceased for sometime, according to reports I have seen.  It would also be good to know who provided or sold alcohol to her without checking her ID. Some people argue that's what teenagers do, but at the sametime that's where responsibility of adults come in at to prevent accidents like this one.
