Crimes Against Black College Students

A  Caucasian college student by the name of Brianna Brochu have been arrested after she harassed her African-American roommate (Chennel Rowe) for no apparent reason, other than hate. Brochu admitted in an Instagram post to spitting in Rowe coconut oil, putting moldy clam dip in her lotions, rubbing used tampons on her backpack, and plenty of more disturbing things that you can read here;  https://www.scribd.com/document/363212377/Brianna-Brochu-Court-Documents-Redacted

Chennel Rowe revealed the shocking and disgusting allegations in a Facebook video. She says she decided to move out after things escalated. As she was leaving, Chennel was shown Instagram posts by her roommate, who bragged about messing with her to make her ill. 

Chennel reported the harassment allegations to university staff and West Hartford police.

She said the school originally told her she may or may not hear anything back about the incident.

After becoming frustrated at how the incident was being handled, she posted her Facebook video online.

‘If the race roles were switched, so many things would have been done already,’ she says in the footage.

Since then, her story has been shared thousands of times on Facebook and Twitter.

The school had this to say along with other updates;

Brianna Brochu have been released on $1,000 bail and was ordered not to contact the victim. She's charged with second-degree breach of peace and third-degree criminal mischief, both misdemeanors.

Shortly after the hearing, West Hartford Police sent out a press release saying they are seeking to add an additional charge, second-degree intimidation based on bigotry or bias, a class D felony that carries a potential sentence of 1 to 5 years in prison. 

Brochu is also no longer a student at University of Hartford. 

What I find disturbing is the charges. The fact Brianna Brochu inserted her victims toothbrush in her anal cavity which made Chennel Rowe sick over and over, should be a felony charge, and I don't think anyone will disagree with me on this. Brianna Brochu already got off lightly in my opinion and she haven't even been convicted yet. To know everything that was done to Chennel Rowe, I hope Brochu is sentenced to some kind of jail time rather than being given probation and community service.  

CRIMES AGAINST AFRICAN-AMERICAN COLLEGE STUDENTS 

College suppose to be an exciting time for everyone looking to built their future. However there have been a growing trend of racially motivated crimes against African-Americans that parents should know about, and even students.

Before your child enroll in college please get to know the college by doing research and ask around on social media forums. Visit the college and take a tour. Ask students directly about diversity on campus. It's only fair that African-American college students should feel safe, like everyone else.
