A murder suspect is in custody after a woman was killed in a stabbing at
the MacArthur BART station in Oakland, BART officials said Monday
evening.
BART police took John Cowell into custody at the Pleasant Hill BART station.
BART PD said the man was unprovoked when he pulled out a knife and attacked the young women. The attack killed Nia.
"Everything that we've uncovered up to this point, we see no altercation," BART PD Chief Carlos Rojas said. "We don't have any information that there was any type of dispute."

Chief Rojas described the attack as one of the most vicious he's seen throughout the decades he's spent on the force.
Rojas explained BART police officers were on-site, already patrolling MacArthur BART station when the stabbing happened. However, the suspect got away as officers rendered aid to Nia and her sister.

MORE INFORMATION
Now that the suspect is in custody more and more information is coming out. Apparently a woman either posted or wrote to Shaun King about the suspect, John Cowell, being spotted at another location following a mother and her child. Police were called but showed up an hour later. Here's the screenshot;

We'll continue to keep everyone up to date on what happens next. The suspect is in custody, that have been confirmed. There's also unconfirmed screenshots I have from an Instagram account of the alleged suspect himself, which the account is now gone after I reported him along with others. I will not post them since more likely the person was a troll, however I will save them in case Law Enforcement request them. My heart continues to go out to the Wilson family during this difficult time.
