URGENT: Amber Alert Issued For Two Missing Siblings In Jacksonville, FL (Updated - Both Found Safe & Unharmed)

URGENT: Amber Alert Issued For Two Missing Siblings In Jacksonville, FL (Updated - Both Found Safe & Unharmed)

Just over 24 hours after Braxton Williams, 6, and his sister, 5-year-old Bri’ya Williams vanished from their front yard in a mobile home park off West Beaver Street, Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams said searchers “have found nothing.”

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the children were reported missing by a family member about 1:30 p.m. Sunday after they were last seen about 11:30 a.m. while playing in the front yard of at the Paradise Village Mobile Home Park off Beaver just east of Chaffee Road. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued the Amber Alert about 5:15 p.m.

Williams said the Sheriff’s Office was utilizing state and regional partners and “every resource we can get” to find the children.

Despite all those resources and the parent’s cooperation with police, there is no indication of what happened to the children.

“Foul play could be a factor at this point. We just don’t know,” Williams said. “We’ve not no indication that anyone close to the children is involved.”

Williams added investigators have been “in heavy contact” with a couple of registered sex offenders who live in the mobile home park and others within a few-mile radius.

Williams asked members of the immediate area to be vigilant and search their properties. He also asked people throughout the community to be familiar with these children’s photos and report any sightings or anything that could provide a clue to what happened to these children.

“We’ve got a heavy focus in the trailer park today, and, obviously, it’s extended into the wooded area,” Williams said. “At this point, we’ll take anything we could get.”

Anyone who has seen the children or who has information about their whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 904-630-0500.

It's very important that everyone share, share and share. We need to bring both of these precious children home to their family. We are living in a time when you cannot take your eyes off your children not even for a second. It's not my place to speculate, but what I will say is im surprised no screams were heard or obvious struggle given that two children were taken. Was it someone they knew and trusted? I can only hope that whatever the case may be, that they're found safe and unharmed.

Rodney Reed's Execution Stayed By Texas Appeals Court

November 15, 2019 0
Rodney Reed's Execution Stayed By Texas Appeals Court

The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals Friday afternoon stopped the scheduled execution of death row inmate and convicted murderer Rodney Reed.

The nonprofit Innocence Project, which has been representing Reed in his effort to stay alive, tweeted the court granted a stay of execution that was "indefinite." The ruling was posted to the court's website.

"We are extremely relieved and thankful that the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals (CCA) has issued a stay of execution for our client Rodney Reed," said his attorney, Bryce Benjet, of the Innocence Project. "This opportunity will allow for proper consideration of the powerful and mounting new evidence of Mr. Reed’s innocence."

Texas civil rights attorney S. Lee Merritt tweeted that he spoke with Reed's family after the court ruling and they are "overjoyed but know this fight isn't over."

The court's move came after the state parole board voted unanimously Friday to recommend Gov. Greg Abbott delay the execution by 120 days He was scheduled to be put to death next Wednesday.

The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles, however, also asked that Abbott not commute Reed's sentence to a lesser penalty. It's unclear what the governor may decide, and his office did not immediately return a request for comment.

During Reed's trial in 1998, prosecutors said he randomly encountered Stites on the road as she drove to work at a grocery store in Bastrop, east of Austin. After she stopped for him, they said, Reed raped and strangled Stites with her own belt, leaving her body in a wooded area. Stites was weeks away from getting married to Fennell, a police officer.

Semen was found inside Stites, and police matched the DNA to that of Reed, who was arrested a year later. Reed's sperm had previously been collected as part of an unrelated sexual assault investigation.

Reed initially denied to investigators that he knew Stites, but later said they had been having a consensual sexual relationship, one that they tried to keep concealed because he is black and Stites was white.

An attorney for Fennell has denied his client's involvement in Stites' death.

While a certain group of people focus on his past, we're talking about right now. A man who was about to be murdered for a crime he didn't commit, and it was clear that he didn't commit the crime that is being spoken. I'll continue to keep everyone up to date as more comes out. I definitely wish Rodney Reed the very best.

Missing College Student Alexis Crawford Found Dead.

Alexis Crawford, the 21-year-old Clark Atlanta University student who went missing from her off-campus apartment more than a week ago, was found dead Friday in an Atlanta area park, Atlanta Police Chief Erika Shields told reporters.

According to police, the suspects are Crawford's roommate, 21-year-old Jordyn Jones, and the roommate's boyfriend, Barron Brantley, 21. One of the suspects led police to the body, the chief said.
"The case has come to one of the saddest conclusions possible and has been absolutely heartbreaking," the chief said. "To Alexis' family, our hearts go out to you. I am so truly sorry that we could not provide you with a better ending."
Her family is devastated and heartbroken, said Rev. Markel Hutchins, who is advising the Crawfords.
Alexis was the "apple of their eye" and was "very highly thought of among her family and friends," Hutchins said.
Hutchins spoke with Alexis' parents after hearing about her death and says they are grieving.
"Alexis' mother was literally unable to speak. All that she could do was listen as I tried to console and comfort her," Hutchins said. "Alexis' father said, 'If they wanted to take somebody's life they could have taken mine. They didn't have to kill my baby, they didn't have to kill her.' "
Hutchins said the grieving father repeated that statement several times.
Hutchins said that Alexis' father also told him, "I know God doesn't make any mistakes."
The family is thankful for the support from the local community as well as from people all over the country, he said.
Hutchins asked for people to pray for the family.
Clark Atlanta President George French Jr. sent a letter to the university family expressing his condolences.
"Our deepest prayers and thoughts are with her family," French wrote. "Tonight we mourn together."

I'll be sure to keep everyone up to date on court dates and anything news that comes out. We're living in a time when women and children are being murdered at an alarming rate, especially in the African-American community. Please be aware of your surroundings and keep a close eye on your children.

The Death of Kamille 'Cupcake' McKinney & Nevaeh Adams.

October 24, 2019 0
The Death of Kamille 'Cupcake' McKinney & Nevaeh Adams.

A South Carolina family has received the tragic news that the body of Nevaeh Adams, a 5-year-old girl missing since August, was located Friday, dumped in a landfill.

The discovery in Sumter, S.C., came more than two months after the child’s mother was found fatally stabbed and wrapped inside a rug inside her home.

“This is a horror story in every sense of the word,” Garryl Deas, an attorney representing the family, told The State newspaper in Columbia.

Authorities confirmed the girl’s death Tuesday. Her body was found during a massive search of the landfill that involved some 400 volunteers as well as personnel from more than 40 government agencies, The State reported.

“This is not the outcome any of us would have wanted,” Sumter police Chief Russell Roark told FOX 46 of Charlotte. “But we hope this can provide some closure to the family. We will continue working with the 3rd Circuit Solicitor’s Office to bring this case to trial.”

On Aug. 5, family members found the body of the girl’s mother, Sharee Bradley. She had been stabbed in the head and neck, according to The State.

Police later arrested Daunte Johnson, 28, a transient who had a relationship with Bradley, and charged him with two counts of murder.

A body that was found inside a dumpster near Alabama's most populous city has been identified as 3-year-old Kamille "Cupcake" McKinney, who was abducted from a birthday party more than a week ago.

Jefferson County Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates confirmed the positive identification in an initial report Wednesday, which stated that Kamille's remains were discovered Tuesday at a landfill in Gardendale, a northern suburb of Birmingham. The cause and time of death has not yet been determined.

Patrick Stallworth, 39, and Derick Irisha Brown, 29, were initially named persons of interest in Kamille's disappearance. They were both arrested last week on unrelated charges. Stallworth was arrested on child porn charges and Brown was jailed for violating probation conditions on a previous kidnapping charge.

After recovering the toddler's remains on Tuesday, the Birmingham Police Department announced its plans to charge Stallworth and Brown with capital murder and kidnapping in connection to the case.

“We believe that this was something they thought about and acted upon and they saw an opportunity to take a young child, and they did,” Birmingham Police Chief Patrick Smith told reporters Tuesday.

"I would like to thank the public for all of the information, all of the tips, all of the video and for their cooperation with this police department during the course of this investigation."

I decided since both girls were found on the sameday it was only fair to post about both at the sametime for equal attention. If you never watched your children closely at any other time, now would be the time. It also wouldn't hurt to refresh your children memories on safety, and talk to your teenagers about Human Trafficking.

Boston Redsox Legend David Ortiz In Stabled Condition After Being Ambushed In Dominican Republic

Boston Redsox Legend David Ortiz In Stabled Condition After Being Ambushed In Dominican Republic

Former Boston Red Sox slugger and Dominican star David Ortiz is out of surgery and doing "fine," according to his family, after he was shot Sunday at a club in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Ortiz's media assistant, Leo Lopez, told ESPN's Enrique Rojas that Ortiz is stable but still in intensive care.
"Doctors say he is out of danger, but he is heavily sedated and will be in intensive care for the next 24 hours," Lopez said.
Lopez, a veteran reporter, said the operation lasted six hours and was performed by three doctors, led by Dr. Abel Gonzalez. The team had to remove part of Ortiz's intestines and colon, as well as his gallbladder. Ortiz suffered liver damage.
"Doctors say that David is out of danger, thank God," Ortiz's father, Leo Ortiz, told ESPN. "What they have told me post-op is that the doctors believe he will recover quickly."
Leo Ortiz added: "Big Papi will be around for a long time.''
Authorities say Ortiz was ambushed by a man who got off a motorcycle and shot him in the back at nearly point-blank range around 8:50 p.m. local time Sunday at the Dial Bar and Lounge in Santo Domingo.
Ortiz, 43, was taken to the Abel Gonzalez clinic, where he underwent surgery.
The gunman was identified as Eddy Feliz Garcia, 25, according to police spokesman Col. Frank Duran Mejia. Dominican National Police Director Ney Aldrin Bautista Almonte said Garcia was captured and beaten by a crowd of people at the bar. He suffered a cranium contusion and trauma to his thorax, left knee and right leg, according to the Dominican Republic's National Health Service. He was treated at the Dario Contreras Hospital in Santo Domingo and then released to police custody.
Investigators are trying to determine whether Ortiz was the intended target, Bautista said. Leo Ortiz told local media he has no idea why someone would have shot at his son.

If you're planning a trip to the Dominican Republic, please be careful. Better yet, maybe scratch your trip if it's possible. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Linda Fairstein Dropped By Publisher Finally, After The Central Park Five T.V Series

June 08, 2019 0
Linda Fairstein Dropped By Publisher Finally, After The Central Park Five T.V Series

Linda Fairstein, a former US prosecutor turned crime novelist, has been dropped by her publisher amid renewed outcry over her role in the wrongful conviction of five teenagers for the brutal rape of a female jogger in 1989.

The black and Hispanic teenagers, known as the Central Park Five, were exonerated in 2002.
New Netflix mini-series When They See Us has returned attention to the case.
It has inspired a #CancelLindaFairstein movement on social media.
Also on Friday, Yusef Salaam, one of the five wrongfully convicted men, accused President Donald Trump of putting "a bounty on our heads" by amplifying public outrage at the time.
Mr Salaam was referring to the decision by the then real estate tycoon, to buy full-page ads in several US newspapers calling for the return of the death penalty in the state.
"They had published our names, our phone numbers, and our addresses in New York City's newspapers. Imagine the horror of that," a tearful Mr Salaam said at an American Civil Liberties Union event in Los Angeles.
Dutton, a Penguin Random House imprint, said it had ended its relationship with the author amid the backlash.
"I can confirm that Linda Fairstein and Dutton have decided to terminate their relationship. We have no further comment," Dutton Publicity Director Amanda Walker told the BBC.
Ms Fairstein, 72, has reportedly also resigned from at least two not-for-profit boards.
The crime novelist, who has written 20 novels since the 1990s, has not commented on the issue.

Warrant Obtained For Derion Vence Phone, Case Update.

June 06, 2019 0
Warrant Obtained For Derion Vence Phone, Case Update.
Investigators have obtained the cellphone records of Maleah Davis’ stepfather, according to court records.
Two court orders were filed this week with the most recent happening on Wednesday. That document is a search warrant showing investigators wanted to use the records of Derion Vence’s personal cellphone to determine who Vence called before and after 4-year-old girl's disappearance on April 30.
“A call history log will reveal with whom the defendant, Vence, communicated after the last time Maleah is seen on camera,” the document read.
The warrant, which was executed prior to last week’s discovery of remains in Arkansas, requested records from April 30 to May 15.
Maleah was last seen on surveillance cameras the morning of April 30 walking behind Vence at the family’s southwest Houston apartment complex.
You can read the full and complete story by clicking here.
It's also being said that Derion Vence Attorney filed a subpoena for Quanell X's phone records. Derion Attorney believes that it's possible Quanell was sent to talk to Vence by police.  So far no ruling have been made. When the ruling is made I will be sure to update this post, so be sure to check back.

Sybrina Fulton, the mother of Trayvon Martin, has announced that she is running for a seat on the Miami-Dade County Commission.

“Since 2012, I have advocated tirelessly to empower our communities and make them safer,” she said in a statement Saturday. “But the work is not done. I am proud to announce that I will run to represent District 1 on the county commission.”

URGENT: Finding Maleah Davis, Stepdad Says She Was Abducted. Search Resumed Today

May 07, 2019 0
URGENT: Finding Maleah Davis, Stepdad Says She Was Abducted. Search Resumed Today

Search efforts for 4-year-old missing girl Maleah Davis resumed Tuesday morning in northeast Houston.

That's the area where the girl's stepdad says he, Maleah and his 1-year-old son were first ambushed by three men Friday night.

Texas EquuSearch volunteers began looking for Maleah on Monday after the Houston Police Department requested the group's immediate help.

Their search began on foot and by ATV in a field near Highway 59 and Greens Road.

"We want to start checking every single dumpster just in case," said Texas EquuSearch's Tim Miller. "We believe in miracles. Let's hope we get one."

"I'm choked up right now thinking about her," Miller told ABC13. "I've been on these cases before. If it doesn't touch your heart, and you don't get emotional, you're just not human."

This all began Friday night when Maleah's stepfather, Darion Vence, said he pulled over, with Maleah and his 1-year-old son, to check his tires because he heard a popping noise near Greens Road and Highway 59.

The family was on the way to pick up Bowens from Bush Intercontinental Airport. Bowens said she had just returned to Houston after attending her father's funeral.

As Vence was checking his vehicle, he claims three Hispanic men in a 2010 blue Chevrolet crew cab pickup truck pulled up.

Police said that's when Vence was hit on the head by one of the men and lost consciousness.

The next thing he knew, Vence said he woke up on the side of Highway 6 near First Colony Mall around 6 p.m. Saturday. His son was with him, but Maleah was not.

Police said Vence went to Houston Methodist Hospital in Sugar Land around 11 p.m. to seek treatment for his injuries with his son.

Maleah's stepfather said she was last seen in the 16500 block of the Southwest Freeway on Saturday around 6 p.m.

Meanwhile, Bowens tells ABC13 they called police Saturday morning to file a report because they were concerned after not hearing from Vence.

You can read the full and complete story by clicking here.

At this point this story doesn't sound not possible, but it also doesn't sound right at all. However given that the police are doing their job the truth should be coming out very soon about what really happened. I'm sure if cameras are around that they're looking at them, and they are actively talking with the little boy. This story is sad all around. I already read last night that CPS was once involved. This is also what was said:

Time is of the essence in the search. Maleah has had several brain surgeries and requires medications and constant care.

Monday night, ABC13 learned the child was recently returned to her home after CPS removed her last August.

According to CPS officials, the girl and her two siblings - 5-year-old and 1-year-old boys - were removed as the agency investigated allegations of physical abuse related to her head injury.

The three siblings were brought back in February.

In an exclusive interview with ABC13 Eyewitness News, Brittany Bowens, Davis' mother, said it was determined a fall was the cause of the girl's injuries.

Remembering Nipsey Hussle, Murdered at 33

April 01, 2019 0
Remembering Nipsey Hussle, Murdered at 33

This world is something. When I say "something", I don't mean it in a positive way. I cannot explain what is going on. Although Gun violence is nothing new in the Black Community and this is something that happens everyday in Chicago, this sh-t needs to stop. Why is it ok we continue to murder our own but holler and are outraged when a white man does it? Nipsey Hussle should've never been murdered. A man doing something positive for his community and really looking to help bring change was murdered in front of his own store, something he worked hard for. Leaving behind his children and Fiancé and whatever else he had going on that was in progress.

Whatever problem you're having with someone, let it go.  We only get one life and it's not up to us to decide who live or dies, especially over some beef that is more likely not important.  We have to grow up and learn that people are going to say things we don't like, do things we don't like, and be around people we don't like, but that's life. We're all different for a reason. Put the guns down, let the hurt go. We shouldn't have to worry about White Supremacy AND our own people coming to kill us.  It's time we start practicing what we preach.

We need to do better.

Before I end this blog I want to share a few things about Dr. Sebi you can click here to know about him and learn about bettering your health. You can click here to learn about who Dr. Sebi was. You can click here to read about Dr. Sebi's passing.  You can click here to read more about Nipsey Hussle's Dr. Sebi Documentary.

I send my sincere Condolences to Nipsey Hussle close friends and family.

LATEST NEWS --

The shocking death of Nipsey Hussle may be gang-related, according to a report — and came one day before the rapper was slated to meet with police about gang violence.

The Grammy-nominated rapper, 33, was shot outside of his Los Angeles store, the Marathon Clothing, around 3:20 p.m on Sunday. The shooting injured two other people who are being treated at a nearby hospital.

A source told the L.A. Times that the shooting is believed to be a gang-related attack.

Witnesses were still being questioned by authorities late Sunday, and detectives were attempting to secure security video.

Hussle — whose real name is Ermias Asghedom — was slated to meet with the LAPD on Monday to discuss a plan of action to ending gang violence in the area. Los Angeles Police Commissioner Steve Soboroff relayed the plans on Twitter, saying, “We (@LAPDChiefMoore and I) were meeting, at the request of @NipseyHussle with him and @rocnation tomorrow at 4pm to talk about ways he could help stop gang violence and help us help kids. I’m so very sad.”

A Los Angeles native, Hussle was an active member of his community – from owning multiple businesses such as Marathon Clothing, to “[giving] jobs to residents who were struggling to get by, some of them homeless,” to donations of both money and more. Hussle was no stranger to gang life, as he explained in a 2014 interview. He told Vlad TV he used to be part of the Rollins’ 60s, which The L.A. Times describes as “a notorious Crips gang clique.”

Community activist Malik Spellman said Hussle gave most of his money back to the community. “The man was instrumental in a lot of stuff. Fighting gentrification, trying to stop gang violence. The facts are he was a good person,” Spellman said.

Lets Talk About Raniya Wright, Also The Latest

Lets Talk About Raniya Wright, Also The Latest

Family of Raniya Wright has announced service arrangements for Raniya, coming a week after the 10-year-old's death.
The Wright family says it will have a "celebration of life" for Raniya at noon Wednesday. The location will be Saints Center Ministries on Colson Street in Walterboro.
"(Raniya's mother) and her family wish to thank everyone for the many thoughts, prayers, and expressions of kindness that have been extended to them during this difficult time," attorneys with the Pizzaro Law Firm said upon announcing the service Monday morning. "They ask for your continued prayers of comfort."
Wright's attorneys say the family has been provided no new details from authorities related to the fight at Forest Hills Elementary School March 25. Raniya and another child were reportedly involved in a classroom fight.
"Parents are required to send their children to school," Wright family attorneys said. "Ashley Wright (Raniya's mother) ... trusted the school to keep Raniya safe from harm. She trusted the school to protect Raniya."
Authorities say Wright was rendered unconscious after the fight, leading to a 2-day hospitalization before her death on Wednesday, March 27. Officials still have not released a cause of death or results of an autopsy performed Friday, March 29.
Colleton County Sheriff Andy Strickland said Friday the ongoing investigation into Wright's death may take weeks to complete.

MY OPINION
Like many other people including the family, we want answers.  A suspension is not good enough and in this case charges should be filed. Raniya Wright will never see another Christmas again, Have Children, Get Married, etc. It needs to be severe consequences for this since an innocent child died or should I say the correct term if being honest, she was murdered.  We have a big problem in the Black Community and if it's not Gun Violence due to Gang Violence, it's Bullying. I have seen many stories on the news of Black children killing themselves because they were being bullied and had enough and the sad part? The bullies are usually our own people. When I was growing up everyone who bullied me were 99.9% Black. I also saw a lot of Colorism which is terrible in our community. It starts with us and I urge parents to sit down with their children and talk to them about bullying. I send my sincere Condolences to Raniya close family and friends.

BREAKING: Judge Aquits 3 Chicago Police Officers Of Laquan McDonald Cover-up

January 17, 2019 0
BREAKING: Judge Aquits 3 Chicago Police Officers Of Laquan McDonald Cover-up
A judge has found three Chicago police officers not guilty of covering up details in the 2014 killing of Laquan McDonald, a black teenager.

Former Detective David March, former Officer Joseph Walsh and Officer Thomas Gaffney had been accused of falsifying police reports to protect Officer Jason Van Dyke, who was found guilty in October of second-degree murder in McDonald's death.

They faced charges of conspiracy, official misconduct and obstruction of justice, but Cook County Associate Judge Domenica Stephenson said in her ruling the state had not proven beyond a reasonable doubt that the officers engaged in a conspiracy to prevent a criminal investigation, and acquitted the officers of all charges.

Stephenson's ruling came more than a month after the officers' five-day bench trial ended.
Todd Pugh, the attorney for Walsh, told reporters the judge displayed "courage and integrity" in her ruling.

"There never was a case here," Pugh said, "despite all of the interest that all you have, there never ever was a case."

Walsh told reporters the ordeal had been "heart-wrenching."

"Heartbreaking for my family," he said. "A year-and-a-half."

An Update On The Jazmine Barnes Case.

January 07, 2019 0
An Update On The Jazmine Barnes Case.

One of the two men accused of involvement in the shooting death of 7-year-old Jazmine Barnes in Texas made a court appearance Monday and was ordered held without bond.

Eric Black Jr., 20, who wore a yellow jumpsuit to Harris County Criminal Court and had his hands and feet shackled, was taken into custody on Saturday, nearly a week after Jazmine was fatally shot as she was riding in a car with her mother and three sisters in the Houston area on Dec. 30.

Following the hearing, a prosecutor told reporters that investigators believe that the car Jazmine and her family were in was targeted "in retaliation for an altercation that had happened earlier in the night.”

"I don't believe that Mr. Black knew the family. I believe this is a case of mistaken identity and I think that Jazmine was an innocent bystander, unfortunately," prosecutor Samantha Knecht said.

Black has admitted to driving a car in which a person in the passenger seat, identified only as Larry W., opened fire on the vehicle occupied by Jazmine's family, prosecutors previously said in court documents. It's unclear if Larry W. has been charged in the shooting. He did not appear in court with Black on Monday.

Black also told authorities that the gun used in the shooting was at his home and gave investigators permission to search his property, according to prosecutors.

Authorities later recovered a 9 mm pistol consistent with shell casings found at the scene of the shooting, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors said in court documents that the suspects did not know they had shot at Jazmine and her family until they saw the story on the news later that day.

When news first broke that someone was in custody and the sketch was all wrong including the description and everything, people was confused like me. So instead of posting every little detail that came out I decided to wait and slowly gather information to share with everyone. The suspects are Black, not White. The motive is a case of Mistaken Identity. The story that's being told is a Gang thought they were shooting at another rival after a dispute earlier that day and that's all I know.  What I will say is it's sad regardless. Nobody should be shooting at anyone at this point.  We as Black people have it hard enough. It's time to stop this foolishness because this is not the first nor last time an innocent person was shot and killed.

Cyntoia Brown Granted Clemency! Her Release Date Is August 7th.

Gov. Bill Haslam ordered an early release for Cyntoia Brown, a Tennessee woman and alleged sex trafficking victim serving a life sentence in prison for killing a man when she was 16.

Haslam granted Brown a full commutation to parole on Monday. Brown will be eligible for release Aug. 7 on time served and will stay on parole for 10 years.

“Cyntoia Brown committed, by her own admission, a horrific crime at the age of 16," Haslam said in a statement. "Yet, imposing a life sentence on a juvenile that would require her to serve at least 51 years before even being eligible for parole consideration is too harsh, especially in light of the extraordinary steps Ms. Brown has taken to rebuild her life.

"Transformation should be accompanied by hope.  So, I am commuting Ms. Brown’s sentence, subject to certain conditions.”

Brown will be required to participate in regular counseling sessions and to perform at least 50 hours of community service, including working with at-risk youth. She also will be required to get a job.

In a statement released by her lawyers, Brown thanked  Haslam "for your act of mercy in giving me a second chance. I will  do everything I can to justify your faith in me."

"With God's help, I am committed to live the rest of my life helping others, especially young people. My hope is to help other young girls avoid ending up where I have been."
