We live in a world where bullying is becoming the new normal, which is heartbreaking. Children as young as 7-years-old are committing suicide, and nothing is being done. I recently ran across a story about a 6th Grader named Uriah Morgan. He's 11, and now being homeschooled because of the bullying at an all-male school, Fulton Leadership Academy. In a video posted by BET his mother talks about Uriah not attending school for weeks because he was scared. He talked about being choked, smothered, and his mother also mentioned him being kicked by an older student and cursed at.

I need all parents first thing in the morning before you send your children off to school to tell them how wonderful they are, and assure them that they can talk to you about anything and educate them about bullying. Children committing suicide should be an eye opener. There's plenty of websites to help you get started as a parent to discuss bullying with your child.
